Alexander Zverev @ $1.12 – Zverev showed some great form during the Hopman Cup and I expect him to account for Dutchman Robin Haase.
Gilles Simon @ $1.17 – Simon plays Michael Mmoh, the world number 190, and generally does well at the Australian Open. Shouldn’t have too much trouble here.
Daria Gavrilova @ $1.22 – Gavrilova is coming off a great year last year and also did well at the Australian Open. Shouldn’t have too much trouble against Naomi Broady who is the world number 97, especially with the home crowd support.
Worth a Punt
Jiří Veselý @ $3.45 – The big serving Czech is a very tricky first up opponent for Gaël Monfils. Veselý took a couple of top 10 scalps last year including Novak Djokovic and is not without a chance in this match.
Tommy Haas @ $4.25 – The super experienced Haas is a 3-time semi-finalist at Melbourne Park and plays the unpredictable Benoît Paire. Paire is rightly the favourite but can be very inconsistent. Haas a chance in this one I think.
Renzo Olivo @ $4.00 – Olivio is currently ranked 79, 26 spots higher than his opponent in Chung Hyeon, yet the bookies have him as the outsider. I think this match should have closer odds and therefore $4 is good value for Olivio.
Yanina Wickmayer @ $2.58 – Perhaps a little bit of value here for Wickmayer against Lucie Šafářová. Both players very evenly matched and currently separated by just the one ranking spot. Could go either way this match.
